Using Memory and Emotion to Show, Not Tell
Make use of your memories to strengthen your writing and get fuller, more nuanced emotional scenes that show but don’t tell.
Even the most experienced writers need to show but not tell and emotional scenes can be tricky. Using some fun writing exercises and techniques, this workshop will give you strategies to put your memories and experiences to use in your writing. We’ll then use them to work on beefing up writing emotion by focusing on physical reactions and effects. You’ll leave with a new set of tools to approach your writing and editing to make it even stronger. Please bring something to write with and something to write on!
