Date: November 14, 2026
Format: In-person & Zoom

Join us for our Monthly Networking Meeting (MNM) on November 14th, featuring guest speaker Gauri Prasad.

Long before an actor says a single line, they’ve already interrogated the character they’re about to play. In this session, actress and author Gauri Prasad walks through the questions actors are trained to ask. Drawn from the greats: Stanislavski, Uta Hagen, Strasberg, Meisner, Adler, and Chekhov, she talks you through turning those questions into a practical toolkit for building characters from the ground up. Please bring pen and paper, and a character that you’re either working on or intrigued by! Gauri’s questions and guided exercises will help you get to know them better.

About the Speaker

Gauri Prasad is a Canadian-Indian actress, author, and Ontario Arts Council BIPOC grant winner with an MBA, a B.Comm, and a couple of other certifications she doesn’t use. She spent the better part of two decades building a vast corporate career and has since left all of that behind to write dark romantic suspense about morally grey men in corporate empires and the feisty women who are the true alphas— which may or may not be a fantastical retelling of her history.

Her debut novel, The Never Not Broken — Book One of the Hecate’s Daughters duology — launched in March 2026.

When she is not writing fiction that would have made her former self darkly elated, she is inventing increasingly creative ways to justify ordering dessert despite being gluten and dairy-sensitive. She considers this a character flaw in someone with excellent taste, because, obviously, the consequences are tomorrow’s problem.
