Event Details

Ruth Walker

Author and editor, Ruth E. Walker, will take us through some of the steps all writers need to take to prepare their work for submission. We’ll focus on preparing for the amazing WCDR Scholarship program but this presentation will be a useful guide for submitting your work for editors, agents and publishers. Fiction, poetry and non-fiction writers will benefit from Ruth’s reminders (some based on her own OMG Did I Just Do That moments) and exercises to put techniques into practice.

Ruth E. Walker is the author of LIVING UNDERGROUND, a Canadian Authors’ Association top-ten book in 2013, and co-author with Gwynn Scheltema of INSPIRATION STATION, a writing resource book. She has won awards and prizes for her fiction and poetry, including a $12,000 Works-in-Progress grant through the OAC and a WCDR $500 scholarship prize. Through Writescape, Ruth offers editing services, writing retreats and workshops. She writes in Oshawa and at her Haliburton cottage, and is represented by Ali McDonald of 5 Otter Literary
