His debut, “The Best Laid Plans” (2008), won the Leacock Medal and the 2011 CBC Canada Reads, leading to a CBC miniseries and a stage musical.

His subsequent works include “The High Road” (2010), “Up and Down” (2012), “No Relation” (2014), “Poles Apart” (2015), “One Brother Shy” (2017), “Albatross” (2019), “Operation Angus” (2021), and “A New Season” (2023).

Fallis has contributed to various publications and was named Author of the Year by the Canadian Booksellers Association in 2013. A McMaster University engineering graduate, he ventured into politics, working for Liberal leaders and later co-founding the communications agency Thornley Fallis. Retired since 2022, he now writes full-time in Toronto.
