Writescape’s Gwynn Scheltema and Ruth Walker will deliver online workshops for writers who want an in-depth focus on aspects of fiction and memoir. Writescape workshops provide practical handouts, engaging in-class exercises and discussions, and professional facilitators.
Focus on editing your own work with Find and Fix. Over three two-hour sessions, learn how to identify flaws in your manuscript and explore practical ways to make effective changes. More than tips on typos and grammar glitches, this workshop will focus on structural and stylistic issues we most often see in our clients’ manuscripts: saggy middles, flat characters, and missed opportunities for effective description and plot development.
For 15 years, Gwynn Scheltema and Ruth E. Walker, were senior editors in communications for the Ontario government. From 1999 to 2007, they were fiction editors for LICHEN, Durham Region’s first literary journal. And for the past 11 years, they’ve offered workshops, retreats, editing and coaching services at Writescape, working with writers in a variety of genres and styles.
